Our Mission
The Dancurás Mountain Rescue Team of Gheorgheni has been working since 1977 to ensure that hikers, skiers, and mountaineers can safely enjoy the beauty of the Gurghiu Mountains.
Our team, made up of experienced professionals and dedicated volunteers, participates in dozens of rescue operations every year—whether responding to avalanches, missing persons, or mountain accidents. We work closely with the National Association of Mountain Rescue Services, as well as with local authorities and mountain communities.
Our mission goes beyond emergency response: we regularly maintain hiking trails, take part in prevention campaigns, and provide education for young people, tourists, and athletes.
Our goal is to ensure that everyone returns safely from the mountains—whether an experienced climber or a weekend hiker. Nature is unpredictable, but we are always ready.
